The calcium that is in the MICRONA™ Poultry Grit will decrease acid buildup and sweeten the soil. Since MICRONA™ Poultry Grit has a high pH between 8.5 and 9.5 it can help prevent pathogens such as E coli and Salmonella. Research shows the growth and survival rate of these pathogens is reduced when the pH is over 8.
